    About the role#

    Extreme Engineering Solutions hires Embedded Hardware Engineering Co-Ops to work on hardware design and production support. You will gain experience with technologies from suppliers like Intel and AMD. Students are assigned to one engineering team based on business needs and individual interests. This is a full-time position where you will contribute directly to products and day-to-day operations.

    What you'll do#

    • Perform schematic capture, component investigations, and DC/DC power design.
    • Support new product bring-up and verify power supplies.
    • Design, build, simulate, and maintain FPGA projects.
    • Diagnose and troubleshoot electronic assemblies and single board computers down to the component level.
    • Use a 3D Full-Wave Solver to perform simulations of high-speed interfaces like memory and PCIe.

    What you'll need#

    • You are currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
    • Familiarity with embedded systems, C or Python programming, printed circuit boards, digital logic, transmission line theory, numerical analysis, or electrical schematics.
    • A hands-on approach to engineering and a desire to learn new skills in design, testing, and production support.
    • Ability to work in small, dedicated engineering teams with a strong sense of urgency.
    • Strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively with software and embedded design engineers.

    Location & details#

    • This position is located in Verona, Wisconsin.
    • The role is full-time and on-site.
    • Available terms include Spring/Summer 2027 (January to August) or Summer/Fall 2027 (May to December).
    • This is a paid position.
