About the role#
The Client Solutions Group Engineering team in Austin designs and develops digital and analogue hardware, including peripherals and computer devices. This internship focuses on the full development lifecycle, from initial research and concept exploration to physical testing and delivery. You will work alongside mechanical engineers and strategists to define the future architecture of Dell products.
What you'll do#
- Incubate new technologies, products, and features to drive innovation.
- Develop technical specifications and proof of concept models for new capabilities.
- Perform physical testing, analytical analysis, and simulations for computer hardware.
- Interface with multi-discipline teams to build upon new technologies.
- Create clear, concise summary reports detailing your investigations and project activities.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an undergraduate degree program for Computer, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Graduation date of December 2027 or May 2028.
- Experience with hardware component and systems design.
- Ability to analyze and create product and architectural specifications.
- Familiarity with high-volume manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency with MS Office and productivity software.
- Knowledge of statistical analysis is preferred.
- Experience with design software such as Creo, Fusion, ANSYS, Flotherm XT, Allegro, or OrCAD is a plus.
