About the role#
Dell Technologies is hiring an IT Undergraduate Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship based in Texas. You will work with engineers, architects, data scientists, and product leaders to build intelligent solutions and contribute to projects that drive business outcomes. This 10-week program focuses on software engineering, AI, data, and cloud technologies.
What you'll do#
- Develop and enhance software applications, AI-powered tools, and intelligent workflows.
- Support the design and implementation of Generative AI, AI assistants, and automation solutions.
- Explore and apply technologies including Large Language Models, AI agents, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation.
- Contribute to cloud-native applications and enterprise-scale platforms.
- Collaborate with engineers, product owners, and business stakeholders.
- Participate in testing, debugging, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
- Apply principles of responsible AI, security, privacy, and governance.
- Learn emerging technologies and apply them to business challenges.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or Machine Learning.
- Strong foundation in software engineering fundamentals, including object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, or C++.
- Demonstrated interest in AI through coursework, projects, research, hackathons, or student organizations.
- Familiarity with Generative AI concepts like LLMs, AI assistants, copilot development, or prompt engineering.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
- Experience with AI/ML tools such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, LangChain, LlamaIndex, or Semantic Kernel is helpful.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP, as well as APIs, databases, Git, or CI/CD tools.
- A portfolio or GitHub repository demonstrating relevant projects is a plus.
