About the role#
ExxonMobil is hiring Chemical Engineering students for a position at the Strathcona Refinery in Edmonton. You will work alongside staff engineers to gain practical experience with petrochemical refining, process safety, unit optimization, and process controls. This role supports the safe, reliable, and profitable operation of process units.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with operations, reliability, and automation engineers to support unit operations.
- Identify, develop, and implement operational and facility improvements focused on safety, reliability, economics, and sustainability.
- Communicate the status of unit operations, improvement opportunities, and operating costs to stakeholders.
- Work within cross-functional teams on various sustainability initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a University Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision in a team-based environment.
- Strong commitment to safety on and off the job.
- Submission of your most recent unofficial transcript with your application.
- Eligibility to work in Canada on a full-time basis.
