About the role#
The Foundation for Defense of Democracies is looking for a Data Visualization Intern for the Fall 2026 term. This role supports our visuals team by turning complex foreign policy and national security data into clear, engaging content. You will work on projects that reach our digital platforms and social media channels.
What you'll do#
- Collect and analyze datasets to support research initiatives.
- Build interactive web graphics for our digital platforms.
- Design data-driven visuals for social media.
- Assist with visual storytelling and overall data analysis.
What you'll need#
- A minimum 3.2 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
- Current enrollment or recent coursework in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, International Relations, Political Science, Visual Communication Design, Data Journalism, or a related STEM field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
- Familiarity with Figma, React, and JavaScript is preferred.
- Experience with data scraping and web development principles is a plus.
- An interest in international affairs and national security.

- This is a full-time internship available in a hybrid or remote format.
- The position is based in Washington, DC.
