About the role#
The Communications Department at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies offers an opportunity to gain experience in foreign policy and media. Interns work directly with scholars and experts to observe how policy and media intersect. This role includes access to a twice-monthly speaker series with senior staff members.
What you'll do#
- Monitor the organization's media profile.
- Track media metrics.
- Develop contacts in broadcast and print media.
- Use writing skills to synthesize research products.
- Craft social media content.
- Participate in the speaker series.
What you'll need#
- A minimum 3.2 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
- Coursework in International Relations, Security Studies, History, Communications, Journalism, International Economics, Political Science, Computer Science, or a STEM field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and basic Excel.
- Strong writing skills.
- Experience with website content management systems and HTML is helpful but not required.
