    About the role#

    GBA is looking for a Mechanical Engineer Intern to join the Life Sciences team in Lenexa, Kansas. You will work within an integrated group of architects, engineers, and project managers focused on mechanical and electrical systems for the bio-pharma industry. This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship.

    What you'll do#

    • Prepare construction documents for various systems.
    • Review shop drawings and RFIs.
    • Verify permitting and code requirements.
    • Conduct facility evaluations and engineering studies.
    • Assist with troubleshooting and commissioning.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    What you'll need#

    • Pursuing a BS or MS in Architectural, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering from an accredited program.
    • Completed at least two years of school.
    • A 2.7 GPA is strongly preferred.
    • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and Excel is preferred.
    • Strong oral and written communication skills.
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
    • Prior internship or related experience is a plus.
    • Involvement in campus or community volunteer activities.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Lenexa, Kansas.
    • Modality: On-site.
    • Physical requirements: You must be able to sit, stand, climb, and work on active construction sites for extended periods. You should be able to lift up to 25 pounds and feel comfortable working at heights using ladders, scaffolds, or stairs.
