About the role#
As an Engineering intern with the Critical Infrastructure Communications team, you will contribute to the development of industrial communications equipment. This role focuses on software testing and automation, providing you with technical training, mentorship, and experience within our manufacturing plant. You will work on projects that support the grid of the future while gaining hands-on exposure to engineering and technology workflows.
What you'll do#
- Develop, implement, and modify automated product test suites to meet release objectives.
- Create automation scripts using Python and Robot Framework for radio communications products.
- Read and interpret technical documentation and engineering specifications.
- Configure test environments and assemble hardware setups for automation.
- Execute test cases to validate product requirements.
- Maintain existing automation developed in LabVIEW.
- Report product defects using Jira and track your daily work activities.
- Assist in the development and review of engineering test plans.
- Report progress to project management and provide time estimates for tasks.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a full-time bachelor or master degree program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent field.
- Completion of at least two full years of college.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Experience with Python scripting and automation.
- Familiarity with Robot Framework or similar test automation tools.
- Experience with version control and CI/CD tools such as Git, GitHub, and GitHub Actions.
- Knowledge of the Linux operating system and basic computer networking concepts.
- Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work in the US without sponsorship.
