About the role#
This internship offers students the chance to join our nuclear energy business starting in January 2027. You will work on-site with customers to support legacy fleet reactors. The role provides exposure to field engineering and outage management, helping you gain experience in the energy sector.
What you'll do#
- Perform maintenance and inspection activities on Boiling Water Reactors.
- Travel to domestic nuclear refueling outages to assist the outage team.
- Attend entry-level technical training.
- Work as part of high-performance teams to complete safe and error-free tasks for customers.
- Handle shorter duration projects at the Wilmington site when not traveling.
- Work shifts of up to 12 hours a day, including weekends, when required for project delivery.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a full-time undergraduate program with a major in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Civil, or Environmental Engineering.
- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
- Prior internship or co-op experience in manufacturing, industrial, or field engineering.
- Ability to articulate technical problems in clear and simple terms.
- Valid US driver's license.
- Ability to travel up to 70% of the time.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and climb 10 flights of stairs twice per day.
- Ability to pass a respirator fit test, physical exam, and background investigation to obtain unescorted access to commercial nuclear power plants.
