About the role#
The Student Researcher Program connects students with research projects aligned to company priorities in scientific advancement. You will work on teams across Google, including Google DeepMind, Google Research, and Google Cloud. These roles are exploratory and focus on developing solutions for real-world, large-scale problems. Projects vary in duration and scope, and you will work alongside research scientists and software developers to build new technologies.

What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a PhD degree program in Computer Science, Linguistics, Statistics, Biostatistics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Economics, Natural Sciences, or a related technical field in the United States.
- Experience in one area of computer science, such as machine learning, natural language understanding, computer vision, or data science.
- Experience contributing to research communities, including publishing papers in major conferences or journals.
- Proficiency in one or more general-purpose programming languages, such as Python or Java.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship.
- Available terms include Summer 2026 and Winter 2027.
- You must be located in the United States for the duration of the engagement.
- Locations include Mountain View, Ann Arbor, Atlanta, Austin, Cambridge, Chicago, Irvine, Kirkland, Los Angeles, Madison, New York, Palo Alto, Pittsburgh, Goleta, San Bruno, Seattle, San Francisco, Sunnyvale, and Washington D.C.
- This program is non-conversion eligible, meaning it is intended for students who are not seeking full-time employment following the internship.
