    About the role#

    As a Co-op Student Data Analyst, you will support the Emergency Health Services (EHS) team within the Department of Health and Wellness. You will work with health system data to help monitor performance and assist with evidence-informed decision-making. This role provides practical experience in a public sector environment, focusing on data collection, cleaning, visualization, and reporting.

    What you'll do#

    • Collect, organize, and validate data from various sources to support EHS reporting.
    • Prepare clear reports, dashboards, and presentation materials for internal and external stakeholders.
    • Clean and interpret data to identify trends, patterns, and issues that support service improvement.
    • Contribute to ad hoc analyses, background research, and environmental scans.
    • Support quality assurance activities and documentation practices.
    • Assist with basic geographic analysis or GIS-based work to visualize service patterns.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a post-secondary co-op program in data analytics, statistics, health informatics, computer science, or a related field.
    • Eligibility to complete a co-op work term.
    • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
    • Comfort using Microsoft 365 tools, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
    • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau is preferred.
    • Familiarity with SQL, Python, or R is considered an asset.
    • Professionalism and a commitment to confidentiality.

    • Location: Halifax, Nova Scotia.
    • Term: Summer 2026.
    • Work Modality: On-site.
    • Schedule: Full-time, 35 hours per week.
    • Paid position: Includes 4% in lieu of benefits and vacation.
