About the role#
This internship within the Global Banking and Markets division offers students and graduates an introduction to sales and trading. You will join the interest rate and currency derivatives sales team in Montreal. The role focuses on developing strategies to hedge financial risks for corporate and commercial clients. This is a paid, full-time position available for terms in Winter 2027 or Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Develop a solid understanding of financial markets, global interest rates, and exchange rate movements.
- Build client relationships by supporting coverage, including responding to inquiries, calls, and incoming trade requests.
- Handle daily tasks such as monitoring option expiries, generating reports, and maintaining transaction databases.
- Create economic reports and presentations for internal and external partners.
- Use Bloomberg for pricing, data collection, and analysis.
- Work with colleagues across the client ecosystem, including business bankers, traders, and risk teams.
- Protect the bank by following all applicable laws, policies, and regulations.
What you'll need#
- Current post-secondary studies in business administration, science, technology, engineering, economics, statistics, or mathematics.
- Strong interest in financial markets and related knowledge.
- A record of achievement in academic and extracurricular activities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a collaborative environment.
- Ability to handle challenges in a changing work environment.
- Proficiency in both French and English, as the role requires regular collaboration with teams in Toronto and interaction with English-speaking clients.
