About the role#
The Exploring Ag Intern role provides hands-on experience in agronomy operations. You will work under the direction of location management to learn the foundation of the industry and prepare for a future career in agriculture. This is a paid, full-time position based in Somerset, Pennsylvania.
What you'll do#
- Assist with facility and equipment maintenance and repair.
- Visit FS locations and customers to build professional relationships.
- Operate field research and crop monitoring equipment and technology for scouting.
- Apply crop nutrition and crop protection products.
- Gain experience with ordering, receiving, and inventory control.
- Follow company safety, environmental, and compliance policies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree or certification program at a community college, technical college, or university.
- Good academic standing.
- A valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to obtain a CDL and a commercial applicator's license.
- Ability to work independently.
- Capability to lift 51-70 pounds regularly.
- Willingness to work in extreme weather conditions and at various heights.
- Ability to travel independently, including overnight stays when necessary.
