About the role#
As an Exploring Ag Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in agronomy operations by working directly under location management. This role provides an opportunity to learn the foundations of the agriculture industry while preparing for your future career. You will work in various outdoor environments and may be required to travel or work overnight when necessary.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment.
- Visit FS locations and customers to build professional relationships.
- Operate technology and equipment used for field research and crop scouting.
- Apply crop nutrition and protection products.
- Manage tasks related to ordering, receiving, and inventory control.
- Follow all safety, environmental, and compliance policies.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a degree or certification program at a community college, technical college, or university.
- Good academic standing.
- A valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- The ability to obtain a commercial driver's license (CDL) and a commercial applicator's license.
- Physical ability to lift 51-70 pounds.
- Willingness to work in extreme weather conditions and at elevated heights.
