About the role#
As a Commodities & Regulatory Intern, you will join the Governmental Affairs & Commodities Division at the Illinois Farm Bureau. You will work directly with the Commodities & Food Systems and Business & Regulatory Affairs teams on projects that impact agriculture in Illinois. This role offers the chance to learn from experienced staff, build professional relationships, and gain insight into policy, regulatory affairs, and commodity programs.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with staff on real-world projects.
- Develop an understanding of agricultural policy and commodity programs.
- Attend meetings and events to network with industry leaders.
- Participate in professional development sessions.
- Contribute to the ongoing work of serving Illinois farmers and rural communities.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in agriculture or a related field.
- A graduation date of August 2027 or later.
- Ability to work full-time from late May 2027 through early August 2027.
- Strong organizational skills and a self-motivated approach to tasks.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to remain productive.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions for outdoor events.
