About the role#
The Security Operations Intern gains hands-on experience in physical security, asset protection, and emergency preparedness within the Hall of Fame Village. You will work alongside security leadership to develop skills in incident management, surveillance, and event operations while supporting campus safety initiatives.
What you'll do#
- Provide guest service to visitors, clients, vendors, and employees.
- Respond to and document incidents, complaints, security breaches, and loss prevention concerns.
- Conduct campus patrols of buildings and venues to identify safety or operational concerns.
- Monitor activity through the Security Operations Center, including surveillance of over 400 cameras.
- Support guest screening procedures through metal detection and access control.
- Assist with a Campus Security Mapping Project to identify critical assets like AEDs and fire extinguishers.
- Analyze incident reports and security data to identify trends and improvements.
- Prepare security equipment and workspaces for daily operations.
- Assist with security planning for campus events.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, Public Safety, or a related field.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Interest in physical security, security technology, investigations, and event operations.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and move over uneven terrain.
