About the role#
This internship offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in site civil engineering. You will work on public and private development projects, including commercial, industrial, municipal, educational, and recreational sites. You will work under the supervision of a licensed professional engineer to support the planning, design, and construction documentation process.
What you'll do#
- Prepare plans, designs, specifications, and cost estimates for site development.
- Gather data for engineering reports, studies, and permit applications.
- Perform calculations for grading, drainage, stormwater management, and utility infrastructure.
- Use AutoCAD Civil 3D and related design tools for site modeling and earthwork analysis.
- Conduct field investigations and site visits to verify existing conditions.
- Document construction operations and assist with construction phase services.
- Write memoranda and reports, maintain project records, and attend meetings.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in an ABET-accredited civil engineering program.
- Completion of your sophomore year at a 4-year college or university.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Analytical skills to solve engineering problems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- A valid driver's license.
