About the role#
Harbinger is seeking a Cybersecurity Intern to support the protection of our enterprise IT systems, product development environments, and operational technology. This position offers hands-on experience with security operations in an automotive and manufacturing environment. You will work 40 hours per week for a duration of 11 to 14 weeks during the Fall 2026 term.
What you'll do#
- Monitor and respond to email security threats like phishing, malware, and spam.
- Analyze and triage endpoint security detections using EDR and related tools.
- Assist with incident investigation and escalation according to established security procedures.
- Document, maintain, and help develop Standard Operating Procedures for critical security processes.
- Support the improvement of security monitoring and response workflows.
- Collaborate with IT and Security teams to strengthen our security posture.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program or higher in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or Information Technology.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to clearly document technical processes and findings.
- Familiarity with networking fundamentals, scripting in Python, PowerShell, or Bash, and common security tools is helpful.
Location & details#
- Location: Garden Grove, California.
- Modality: This role is hybrid and requires 4 days in-office per week.
- Compensation: $25 to $35 per hour.
- Relocation: A $1,000 stipend is available for interns living more than 50 miles from the facility.
