About the role#
This is a 10-week, full-time, paid internship based in Miami, Florida. You will work on-site at the property, gaining hands-on experience by shadowing key roles such as the Property Manager, Leasing staff, and Maintenance team. Interns will also contribute to a 2027 Capstone Project and participate in internship events at the company headquarters.
What you'll do#
- Assist with leasing apartments, including showing units and qualifying prospects.
- Manage administrative tasks such as preparing move-in paperwork and entering resident data into Yardi.
- Respond to telephone inquiries and follow up with prospective residents.
- Inspect apartments with new residents and review property rules.
- Handle renewals, track lease expirations, and process application fees, deposits, and rent.
- Walk the property to maintain curb appeal and monitor overall appearance.
- Record and act on resident service requests.
- Plan and prepare resident functions.
- Comply with Fair Housing and Tax Compliance regulations.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a 4-year accredited program for Property Management, Real Estate, Marketing, or a similar field.
- Status as a rising Junior or Senior.
- At least 1 year of work experience in customer service.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
