About the role#
This is a 10-week internship program based at The Statesman in Cumming, Georgia. You will work on-site and gain exposure to the daily operations of property management, including shadowing roles like the Property Manager and Maintenance Supervisor. Interns participate in the 2027 Capstone Project and receive housing at the property with rent and utilities covered, along with travel expenses for headquarters events.
What you'll do#
- Assist with leasing apartments, qualifying prospects, and showing units.
- Manage move-in paperwork and conduct apartment inspections with new residents.
- Maintain accurate traffic numbers and prospect data in Yardi.
- Follow up with prospective residents via phone and correspondence.
- Learn to manage lease renewals, track expirations, and process resident notices.
- Collect and report application fees, security deposits, and rent payments.
- Assist with resident functions and monitor property curb appeal.
- Record and address resident service requests.
- Ensure compliance with Fair Housing and Tax Compliance regulations.
- Maintain an organized workspace and professional conduct at all times.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a 4-year accredited program in Property Management, Real Estate, Marketing, or a related field.
- Status as a rising Junior or Senior.
- At least 1 year of customer service experience.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
