About the role#
HARMAN's Software Experiences Business Unit (SEBU) builds software products that connect people to music, including the Roon music library management platform. As a Product Strategy intern, you will join our product teams to help us understand our users. You will conduct competitive and user research, sit in on daily team operations, and translate your findings into actionable insights for the team.
This is a part-time, remote internship. You will work as an embedded member of the team, joining standups and reviews, managing your own research threads, and presenting your work directly to decision-makers.
What you'll do#
- Recruit and interview users aged 16 to 25 to understand their listening habits, language, and unmet needs.
- Track competitors and adjacent products to identify feature gaps and emerging trends.
- Support usability and concept testing for new features and prototypes.
- Summarize research findings into regular internal documents.
- Own one self-directed research project and deliver a final presentation of your recommendations.
- Monitor public conversations about our product category on platforms like Reddit, Discord, and TikTok.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program or higher, having completed your sophomore year.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Returning to school for at least one semester following the internship.
- Hands-on familiarity with platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Discord, Reddit, and major streaming services.
- Pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Media Studies, or a related field.
- Ability to work in a remote environment with strong self-direction.
Location & details#
- This position is fully remote within the United States.
- This is a part-time role, typically up to 20 hours per week.
- The internship is paid, with compensation based on academic standing: $19.00/hour for Freshmen, $21.00/hour for Sophomores, and $23.00/hour for Juniors.
