About the role#
Harrison Street Asset Management is hiring an intern for the Asset Management team. This 10-week summer program provides exposure to alternative property investments including student housing, senior housing, and life science buildings. Interns receive mentorship from executive leadership and participate in property tours. This is a full-time, paid position based in Chicago.
What you'll do#
- Assist with portfolio analysis, including monthly financial performance and budget reviews.
- Prepare quarterly investor reporting materials.
- Analyze the financial impact of capital events like debt refinancing and dispositions.
- Review leasing trends, supply and demand data, and competitive property sets.
- Participate in bi-weekly meetings regarding distressed assets and loan maturities.
- Support the maintenance of joint venture projection models.
- Conduct site inspections of existing or under-development properties.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a junior in a Bachelor's degree program.
- Preferred concentrations in Finance, Real Estate, or Business Administration.
- Core knowledge of accounting and finance principles.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A self-directed approach to managing multiple tasks and priorities.
