About the role#
Harrison Street Asset Management is hiring an intern for the Transactions team for the summer of 2027. This 10-week program involves financial analysis, cash flow modeling, and property reviews. You will work on various alternative property types, such as student housing, senior housing, self-storage, healthcare, and life science buildings. The program includes property tours, mentoring from executive leadership, and individual projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist in preparing Investment Committee presentations.
- Build and update financial models for new and existing transactions.
- Analyze economic, demographic, and market data for development areas, including recent trades and leasing information.
- Manage databases regarding development opportunities, acquisition targets, and deal status.
- Help create investor pitch books.
- Support the team in analyzing refinancing and derivative debt instruments.
What you'll need#
- You must be a junior in college to apply.
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Real Estate is preferred.
- Core knowledge of finance and accounting principles.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A self-directed, organized, and motivated approach to your work.

- Location: Chicago, Illinois.
- Term: 10 weeks, starting in early June 2027.
- Commitment: Full-time, on-site internship.
- Compensation: This is a paid position.
