About the role#
Hatch is hiring a Landscape Designer Student for a 4-month internship starting in January 2027. You will report to the Infrastructure, Water group and work from our Oakville, Ontario office. This is a full-time, paid position for students currently enrolled in a Landscape Design Technology co-op program.
What you'll do#
- Support project managers, engineers, and designers in preparing design drawings for municipal projects.
- Assist in CAD design of municipal infrastructure, including watermains, sewers, and roads.
- Contribute to conceptual and detailed landscape design, including planting design and specifications.
- Use ArcGIS for data collection and analysis to create maps and visualization studies.
- Assist in proposal development by conducting research and creating reports.
- Coordinate with technicians and other disciplines to produce design deliverables.
- Design and develop 3D models and renderings for landscape and architectural visualizations.
- Use Adobe Creative Cloud tools to enhance documents, presentations, and visual content.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Landscape Design Technology co-op program at an accredited college.
- Strong CAD skills, including experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Revit.
- A positive, results-oriented attitude with the ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively and adapt to new challenges.
