About the role#
HealthCorps is looking for a mentor to support the Teens Make Health Happen program in Ada, Oklahoma. You will serve as a near-peer mentor for middle and high school students, helping them build leadership skills and make healthy choices. This is a paid internship opportunity for the Fall 2026 term.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with teen wellness leaders and site partners to deliver programming.
- Research local health challenges and conduct needs assessments to measure your impact.
- Plan and implement the Teens Make Health Happen curriculum at your assigned school sites.
- Host monthly health demonstrations and assist with regional events.
- Promote accessible health resources for students and staff.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student in fields such as Public Health, Psychology, Nutrition, Marketing, Biology, or Health Administration.
- Good academic standing at your university.
- A commitment of at least 8 hours per week for the duration of the academic year.
- A desire to grow as a community leader.
- Comfort learning and presenting health topics to a teen audience.
