About the role#
Heidelberg Materials is looking for a Mining Engineer Intern to join the team in Peebles, Ohio. This role provides hands-on experience in quarry operations, mine planning, and process improvement. You will work directly with our engineering and operations staff on projects that support our production goals.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the planning and execution of daily quarry mining operations.
- Conduct field surveys and gather operational data for analysis.
- Support production monitoring and project implementation tasks.
- Work with engineering and operations teams to find ways to improve safety and efficiency.
- Create reports, presentations, and recommendations based on operational performance.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to interpret data and apply technical concepts to real-world operational challenges.
- Clear communication skills and a willingness to work within a team.

- Compensation: $20.00 to $27.00 per hour.
- Additional: Housing is provided. Candidates must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check. The work environment involves exposure to moving equipment, varying weather conditions, and elevated noise levels.
