About the role#
This is an unpaid internship through the DoD SkillBridge program, specifically for transitioning active-duty military personnel. The program provides hands-on experience within HII Mission Technologies. You will train as an ACCCIT Master Tradesperson, reporting to a supervisor to learn core principles and equipment operations. The goal of this internship is to prepare you for a potential transition into a full-time, permanent role with the company.
What you'll do#
- Train on projects while working closely with a mentor and senior leadership.
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems, components, and apparatus using test equipment and hand tools to locate and correct breakdowns on ventilation systems, duct heaters, TRV, 2PD, and associated equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints and research technical manuals.
- Learn to schedule, report, and brief customers and senior management on work progress.
- Handle special projects as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Must be active-duty military within your final 180 days of service.
- Applications are accepted within 12 months of separation or retirement.
- An active Confidential security clearance or higher is required.
- Education and experience requirements are dependent on the specific Program of Instruction.
- Physical requirements vary based on the Program of Instruction.
