About the role#
This is an unpaid internship through the DoD SkillBridge Program at HII Technical Solutions. It is designed for transitioning active-duty military personnel to gain real-world experience during their final 180 days of service. You will train as an Interior Communications Master Tradesperson, working closely with a mentor and senior company leadership to learn core principles and technical skills.
What you'll do#
- Train on meaningful projects while learning to operate, configure, and maintain specialized equipment.
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components on 1MC, 3MC, and 5MC systems onboard Naval ships.
- Use test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of breakdowns and perform necessary repairs.
- Learn to read blueprints and research technical manuals to support project objectives.
- Schedule, report, and brief customers and senior management on work progress.
- Complete special projects as assigned by your supervisor.
What you'll need#
- You must be active-duty military within your final 180 days of service.
- You must possess a Confidential or higher security clearance.
- Education and experience requirements are dependent on the specific Program of Instruction.
- Ability to be available during core business hours for training and meetings.
