About the role#
This is a paid, full-time internship for Summer 2027 based in Fort Lauderdale. You will join the HITT Futures Program to gain hands-on experience in commercial construction management. The program runs for 10 weeks, from May 24, 2027, to August 5, 2027. You will work on-site, supporting project teams while participating in mentorship, professional development, and networking events.
What you'll do#
- Support project delivery by working directly with project managers and superintendents.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers, track materials, and manage project files.
- Handle document control tasks, such as drafting submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
- Help prepare bid packages and assist in soliciting subcontractor bids.
- Review construction drawings, verify site conditions, and support safety and quality control efforts.
- Participate in progress reporting and internal team updates.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program for Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or Industrial Engineering.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week for the full 10-week duration.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Aptitude for learning project-specific software systems.
