About the role#
Hoar Construction is hiring for a BIM/VDC internship for Summer 2027. This is a full-time, paid position based in Nashville, Tennessee. You will work on-site to assist our VDC team with project setup, modeling, and field operations.
What you'll do#
- Create supplemental models for MEP coordination.
- Adjust models for constructability reviews, quantity take-offs, and cost estimates.
- Assist with virtual mock-ups and other modeling tasks.
- Support 3D trade coordination, site logistics, and 4D sequencing.
- Help manage clash data from trade partner models.
- Participate in VDC coordination meetings.
- Learn to develop and maintain project coordination schedules.
- Support laser scan services and the setup of field equipment like total stations, scanners, and UAVs.
- Manage one or two VDC deliverables at a time with guidance from staff.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a four-year or advanced degree in Building Design Sciences or a related field.
- You have completed at least your freshman year of college.
- You maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA.
- You hold a valid driver's license.
- Experience with Revit and Navisworks is preferred.

- This role requires the ability to work in both indoor and outdoor settings, including exposure to various weather conditions and travel between job sites. You must be able to lift light to moderate weight and perform tasks requiring physical mobility.
