About the role#
Interfor is hiring an Operations Intern for a summer 2027 term in Castlegar, British Columbia. This is a full-time, on-site position. You will work with experienced professionals to gain practical experience in a manufacturing environment. The role involves a 4 to 8 month commitment with a start date in May.
What you'll do#
- Learn how a modern sawmill operates by exploring production processes.
- Contribute to projects focused on operational efficiency, process improvement, and production performance.
- Analyze data and observations to find opportunities for improvement across mill operations.
- Build leadership and analytical skills by working alongside operations professionals.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree or diploma program related to Wood Products Processing, Business, Operations Management, Engineering, or Supply Chain.
- A commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- An interest in learning how manufacturing operations function.

- Term: Summer 2027 (4 to 8 months).

- Compensation: Paid position with a starting salary from $3,350 per month, depending on experience and year in school.
- Additional support: A temporary living allowance is provided for interns moving to the area.
