About the role#
The Employment Intern works with the Employment team to help refugee clients find jobs and prepare for the workforce. You will provide support services to clients while completing administrative tasks like data entry and case file maintenance. This role reports to the Employment Specialist.
What you'll do#
- Research potential employers and community partners for the Employment Program.
- Work one-on-one with clients to provide job readiness counseling and training.
- Assist clients as they fill out online and paper job applications.
- Accompany clients to job interviews and orientations.
- Enter case notes and other data into relevant databases.
- Create and maintain client case files.
- Provide general administrative support for the Economic Empowerment team.
What you'll need#
- A strong interest in working with an international population.
- Proficiency with employment-related activities.
- Ability to work with consideration and respect for cross-cultural differences.
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Office and internet research.
- Enthusiasm for helping people learn and demonstrated professionalism.
- A valid driver’s license and access to an insured vehicle.
- Must be at least 18 years old and pass a background check.
Location & details#
- Location: Tallahassee, Florida.
- Term: Fall 2026, beginning the week of September 8, 2026.
- Modality: This is an on-site, in-person role.
- Commitment: Minimum of 15 hours per week for at least 3 consecutive months.
- Schedule: Primarily weekdays between 9AM and 5PM, with occasional weekend activities.
- Compensation: This is an unpaid internship.
