    About the role#

    The International Rescue Committee in Atlanta is seeking a Casework Intern for the Fall 2026 term. This role supports the Resettlement Services team, which acts as the first point of contact for newly arrived refugees. You will assist staff in guiding clients through the initial stages of resettlement and social adjustment.

    What you'll do#

    • Collaborate with the Case Management team to deliver core resettlement services.
    • Support the quality assurance process by scanning and uploading client documents.
    • Conduct wellness checks and deliver important paperwork to client homes.
    • Provide transportation for clients to appointments, grocery shopping, and other needs.
    • Assist with client walk-in days and screening.
    • Maintain accurate case notes and provide general administrative support.

    What you'll need#

    • Excellent communication and writing skills.
    • Strong organizational habits and attention to detail.
    • Ability to work independently and manage tasks under pressure.
    • Genuine interest in international and refugee issues.
    • Enthusiasm for working in a multi-cultural setting and a desire to help others.
    • Proficiency with PC systems.
    • Preferred majors include Human Resources, Psychology, Political Science, or Sociology.
    • Access to a car and a valid driver's license is beneficial.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Atlanta, Georgia.
    • Modality: This is an on-site, in-person internship.
    • Commitment: You must be able to work 15 hours per week for at least 3 consecutive months.
    • Requirements: You must be at least 18 years old, authorized to work in the United States, and pass a background check. This position is unpaid and does not offer sponsorship. The internship begins the week of September 8, 2026.
