About the role#
The Youth & Education Intern supports the Student Support Volunteer Tutoring Program. You will help manage the day-to-day operations of this program, which pairs community volunteers with recently resettled middle and high school students. This is a client-facing role that provides direct experience in non-profit program management, social work, and youth education. This position is paid and requires an on-site presence.
What you'll do#
- Call recently arrived families to identify students interested in the program.
- Interview and onboard potential community volunteers.
- Match volunteers with eligible students based on location and demographic criteria.
- Coordinate initial meeting times between the student, volunteer, and program supervisor.
- Document and case note every step of the process in program databases.
- Provide administrative support, including office and reception coverage as needed.
What you'll need#
- Ability to complete tasks efficiently and on time.
- Self-starter mindset with a focus on reaching project goals.
- Successful completion of an IRC background check.
- Availability for the full 10-week term at 10-15 hours per week.
- Preferred academic backgrounds include Psychology, Political Science, Sociology, Human Resources, Communications, Public Health, Nursing, or Business Administration.
