About the role#
The Career Development Intern supports the Economic Empowerment Department by helping refugee and immigrant clients move beyond entry-level work. You will report to the Career Development Supervisor and assist clients in pursuing skilled career pathways through counseling and job placement support.
What you'll do#
- Work one-on-one and in groups to help clients define career pathways and advancement goals.
- Assist with the creation and revision of resumes and LinkedIn profiles.
- Guide clients through the enrollment process for post-secondary training and certification programs.
- Prepare clients for upcoming job interviews and accompany them to appointments when necessary.
- Research local industries, employers, and workforce trends in Atlanta.
- Provide administrative support and maintain accurate records of program activities.
What you'll need#
- A strong interest in working with international clients.
- Proficiency in resume writing and LinkedIn.
- Ability to work with respect for cross-cultural differences.
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
- A valid driver’s license and access to an insured vehicle.
- Ability to work independently and use Microsoft Office programs.
- Must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States.
- Must pass a background check.
Location & details#
- Location: Atlanta, GA.
- Term: Fall 2026, beginning the week of September 8th.
- Commitment: 15 hours per week for at least 3 consecutive months.
- Modality: Hybrid.
- This is an unpaid internship.
