About the role#
Interstates is looking for an Instrumentation, Manufacturing & Automation Intern to join our team in Sioux Center, Iowa. This internship provides hands-on experience across three areas of our business: Instrumentation & Electrical, Manufacturing, and Plant Floor Automation. You will work alongside experienced team members to learn about industrial applications and support daily project activities. This position is open to students currently enrolled at Northwest Iowa Community College.
What you'll do#
- Participate in the fabrication and assembly of electrical panels.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
- Gain exposure to instrumentation, electrical systems, and troubleshooting.
- Contribute to PLC and HMI programming and automation projects.
- Assist with testing, documentation, and other project tasks.
- Follow all safety procedures and practices in an industrial environment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree or technical program for Instrumentation, Electrical, Automation, Engineering, or a related field.
- Interest in instrumentation, industrial automation, manufacturing, or electrical systems.
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Commitment to working safely.
