    About the role#

    As a Process Safety Engineering Student, you will support risk management activities at our refinery in Saint John. You will gain insight into how process safety principles apply to daily operations. This role involves working closely with our Process Safety Management and Health, Safety and Environment teams. You will primarily work in an office setting while developing an understanding of how the refinery functions.

    What you'll do#

    • Prepare for Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) sessions by gathering technical drawings and documents.
    • Support the execution of PHA sessions.
    • Write clear, structured technical reports based on PHA outcomes.
    • Communicate risks and recommendations to stakeholders and risk owners.
    • Assist the team with facility siting, emergency preparedness, and fire protection.
    • Support work related to over pressure protection, Safety Instrumented Systems, and incident investigations.
    • Learn about regulatory frameworks and company safety standards.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a post-secondary engineering program, specifically Chemical or Process Engineering.
    • Completion of at least one year of post-secondary studies with plans to return to school.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to solve problems and work independently or within a team.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
    • A safety-conscious mindset and the ability to meet deadlines.
    • A valid Canadian driver’s license is considered an asset.

    • This is a paid co-op position.
