    About the role#

    The Park School of Communications is hiring Classroom Assistants and Lab Monitors for the Fall 2026 semester. These positions provide support for photography courses and maintain the functionality of our lab spaces. You will work 4 hours per week at a rate of $16 per hour.

    What you'll do#

    • Mix and dilute alternative darkroom chemicals.
    • Set up classrooms before sessions and clean workspaces after use.
    • Check printers to ensure they are ready for student use.
    • Manage the opening and closing of photo labs on weekdays and Sundays.
    • Check out and return equipment from the department resource center.

    What you'll need#

    • A solid understanding of photo labs, galleries, and darkroom procedures.
    • Preference is given to students majoring in Art, Media Studies, or Graphic Design.
    • For Classroom Assistant roles, preference is given to students who have completed Advanced Darkroom or other advanced photography coursework.
    • For Lab Monitor roles, preference is given to students who have completed Introduction to Photography, Advanced Digital, or Darkroom Photography.

    • This position is located on-site in Ithaca, New York.
    • This is a paid, part-time student position for the Fall 2026 semester.
