About the role#
The Registrar’s Office at Ithaca College is hiring a Student Assistant to help with daily office operations and social media management. This position involves supporting staff, maintaining student records, and creating digital content for the college community. It is a paid, part-time role designed to offer experiential learning while you balance your academic schedule.
What you'll do#
- Provide information on college policies and procedures to students, faculty, staff, and parents.
- Handle customer service inquiries at the front desk and over the phone.
- File paperwork and maintain the office filing system.
- Assist with special projects, including diploma cover preparation for Commencement.
- Create and manage content for Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube.
- Develop tutorials and video content for the Registrar’s website.
- Track and report social media engagement statistics.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding all student records and office projects.
What you'll need#
- Familiarity with FERPA regulations and the ability to interpret them.
- Proficiency in social media management and video editing.
- Strong organizational, listening, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and maintain strict confidentiality.
- A creative, detail-oriented, and self-motivated approach to tasks.
- Relevant majors include Communications, Marketing, or Graphic Design.
Location & details#
- Location: Ithaca, New York.
- Schedule: Approximately 10 hours per week, flexible around your classes.
- Pay: $16.00 per hour.
- Modality: On-site.
