    About the role#

    The International and Comparative Legal Studies (ICLS) department at American University is hiring a Graduate Communications Assistant. This is a part-time, on-site role based at the Tenley Campus in Washington, DC. You will work 20 hours per week supporting the communications and marketing efforts for the ICLS program and its managed LL.M. initiatives.

    What you'll do#

    • Create, send, and monitor email campaigns using Campaigner or similar software.
    • Manage and update the ICLS and ICLS-managed LL.M. websites.
    • Produce content for social media accounts using tools like Canva and Adobe.
    • Develop strategies for social media advertising and program marketing.
    • Assist in the creation and distribution of monthly newsletters, blogs, articles, and both physical and digital brochures.
    • Engage with the community and handle other communications tasks as assigned.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a graduate program at American University.
    • A Bachelor’s degree.
    • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and graphic design software.
    • Strong written, oral, interpersonal, and planning skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple activities, balance competing deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.
    • High level of organization and attention to detail.

    • Location: Tenley Campus, Washington, DC.
    • Type: Part-time, 20 hours per week.
    • Compensation: $18.40 per hour.
    • Eligibility: This position is open only to currently enrolled American University graduate students.
