About the role#
The Marketing and Communications Student Eco Rep supports the Office of Sustainability by promoting programs, events, and initiatives through storytelling and digital engagement. You will act as a sustainability ambassador, helping to increase awareness of campus opportunities and inspiring community members to take action. This position offers hands-on experience in project management, communication, and leadership.
What you'll do#
- Create content for social media, newsletters, websites, presentations, and promotional materials.
- Support marketing campaigns for sustainability programs and initiatives.
- Capture stories that highlight student involvement and program impact.
- Assist with graphic design, photography, videography, and multimedia projects.
- Collaborate with other Eco Reps and campus partners to promote sustainability opportunities.
- Monitor and report on communication and engagement metrics.
- Maintain branding consistency across communications.
- Support event marketing and outreach efforts.
- Collect testimonials, photos, and impact stories from sustainability initiatives.
- Serve as a positive ambassador for sustainability within the community.
What you'll need#
- Current SNHU student in good academic standing.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Interest in sustainability, marketing, communications, storytelling, or public relations.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Creativity and a willingness to learn new skills.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Ability to support colleagues at events, including Good Stuff, Arboretum After Dark, and Campus Race to Zero Waste.
- Coursework or experience in marketing, communications, public relations, graphic design, journalism, media arts, business, or sustainability is preferred.
- Experience with social media content creation, design tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite, and multimedia production.
Location & details#
- Location: On-site in New Hampshire.
- Employment type: Part-time, 10-15 hours per week.
- Schedule: Primarily weekdays, with some nights and weekends required for events.
- Compensation: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour, based on skills and experience.
