    About the role#

    Jensen Hughes is hiring interns for the Fire Protection Engineering department. This role supports our consulting work on commercial, institutional, and industrial projects. You will work on-site in Concord, California, as part of a team providing life safety, fire protection, and security services.

    What you'll do#

    • Develop, modify, and review drawings of systems or components based on established standards.
    • Create plans, specifications, and inspection reports.
    • Assist with technical design problems, including field investigations and design computations.
    • Conduct and document building code analyses, egress analyses, and fire detection or alarm system reviews.
    • Perform calculations for sprinkler system water supplies and smoke control equipment.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program or higher in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.
    • Knowledge of engineering principles or construction technology.
    • Ability to read and interpret technical procedures, professional journals, and governmental regulations.
    • Intermediate skills in written and oral communication.
    • Proficiency with personal computers, including database software, word processing, and spreadsheets.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Concord, California.
    • This is a full-time, paid internship.
    • The position operates on a rolling term basis.
    • Sponsorship is not available for this role.
