    About the role#

    Kimley-Horn is hiring engineering students for a summer 2027 internship in our Kansas City office. This is a full-time, on-site position. You will work alongside project managers to support civil engineering design, planning, and permitting tasks.

    What you'll do#

    • Use technical software to analyze, create, and quality check project deliverables.
    • Assist with pre-construction design, planning, and modification for various projects.
    • Solve technical problems and collaborate with team members across different disciplines.
    • Learn to navigate federal, state, and local regulations.
    • Gain experience with industry software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, Excel, Microstation, VISSIM, Open Roads, Synchro, or GIS.

    What you'll need#

    • You are currently pursuing a Bachelor or Master degree from an ABET accredited program.
    • Eligible majors include Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Biological, Biosystems, Chemical, or Agricultural Engineering, as well as Engineering Technology.

    • This internship is located in Kansas City, Missouri.
    • The position is on-site and full-time during the summer of 2027.
    • This is a paid internship.
