About the role#
Dematic is hiring a Mechanical Engineering Co-Op to work on material handling systems. You will learn about mechanical engineering processes while supporting customer projects. This is a paid, full-time position that requires on-site attendance.
What you'll do#
- Support modernization and upgrades for existing material handling systems.
- Perform site audits to gather necessary project data.
- Assist with the installation of mechanical upgrades.
- Create layouts and documentation for modernization scopes.
- Manage purchase requests and parts order entries.
- Ensure new equipment meets specifications.
- Provide technical support to the estimating, sales, engineering, and field operations teams.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 4-year degree program for Mechanical Engineering.
- Familiarity with CAD software, specifically AutoCAD.
- Comfort with general computer systems and technologies.
- Ability to solve complex design issues.
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to work in a team environment.
- Ability to learn how to maintain and repair material handling systems.
Location & details#
- This role is based in Henrietta, New York or Grand Rapids, Michigan.
- The position follows a rolling term schedule.
- Base pay is estimated between $20.00 and $29.00 per hour, depending on experience and location.
