About the role#
This is a paid, full-time Pharmacy Intern position with Kroger. You will work on-site in Memphis, Tennessee, gaining hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting. This is a rolling internship opportunity.
What you'll do#
- Assist customers by answering questions about products and ensuring they feel welcome.
- Maintain knowledge of pharmaceutical products to discuss them effectively with customers and prescribers.
- Provide drug counseling to customers and offer recommendations for over-the-counter medications.
- Input patient and prescription data into the pharmacy computer system.
- Dispense medications, process insurance information, and coordinate with prescribers for authorizations.
- Administer immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
- Manage inventory by checking incoming orders, stocking shelves, and returning unused stock.
- Maintain a clean and safe department, reporting any safety risks or incidents to management.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
- A valid state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
- Ability to work cooperatively and manage conflict in a professional manner.
- Commitment to honesty and integrity when handling customer and business information.
- Capacity to follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
