About the role#
The Electrical Engineering department is looking for a co-op student to join the team as a junior engineer. You will work on hands-on projects, conduct testing, perform analyses, and give presentations. This role offers a supportive environment where you can take on technical challenges at your own pace.
What you'll do#
- Support the design of new and existing products.
- Select parts and handle schematic capture and documentation.
- Verify, test, and debug circuit card assemblies.
- Investigate product performance to suggest improvements for reliability and cost.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors or Advanced degree program in Electrical Engineering or a similar field.
- Ability to commit to a 16 month term, with 12 month terms occasionally available.
- Experience with a schematic capture package, such as Orcad.
- Electronic design skills from practical course work or previous experience.
- Familiarity with test equipment like oscilloscopes, multi-meters, and signal generators.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work in a matrixed environment and communicate effectively with all levels of staff.
- A self-starting, hands-on approach to problem solving and accountability.
