About the role#
This is a 16 month co-op position starting in May 2026. You will manage Work Order date integrity and ensure production stays on track by analyzing material availability. You will work closely with the Inventory Control and Purchasing teams to address shortages and coordinate material movement. The role requires you to negotiate schedule recovery dates with supervisors and provide updates to the Master Scheduler. You will also track Key Performance Indicators and contribute to process improvements.
What you'll do#
- Maintain Work Order date integrity and manage the opening, releasing, and closing of manufacturing orders.
- Analyze Material Availability reports to ensure production starts on time.
- Review and execute planning for Kanban processes.
- Coordinate with the Inventory Control Group on kitting, replenishment, and material movement.
- Communicate with Purchasing to provide visibility on component shortages.
- Monitor Point-of-Use inventory accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Support monthly cycle counts and annual WIP counts.
- Negotiate schedule recovery dates with Production Supervisors.
- Provide updates to the Master Scheduler regarding delays.
- Generate weekly reports on Work Order completion rates.
- Monitor workflow between production cells and other departments.
- Contribute scheduling insights to daily Operations Status meetings.
- Support Continuous Improvement and Kaizen initiatives.
- Analyze production data and Team Key Results to improve planning accuracy.
- Assist work center supervisors with capacity planning.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a college or university business program with a focus on Operations Management.
- Ability to complete a 16 month co-op term starting in May 2026.
- Current enrollment and good standing with a co-op program at an accredited university.
- Ability to obtain Canadian Controlled Goods Program clearance.
- Data analysis skills, including experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerBI.
