About the role#
As a Software Engineer Intern, you will work on the development of software for tactical radio equipment. You will collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to build and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software. This role involves working across all phases of the software development life cycle, from initial requirements analysis to final testing.
What you'll do#
- Apply computer science, engineering, and mathematical principles to software development.
- Design and evaluate system performance requirements.
- Develop test procedures, programs, and documentation.
- Use modeling tools to establish operating data and conduct experimental tests.
- Participate in peer reviews to identify, track, and repair software defects.
- Work with various languages including C++, C, C#, Java, Python, and SQL on platforms ranging from Windows and Linux to embedded real-time operating systems.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program at an accredited university.
- A major in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Wireless Engineering, Information Security, Mathematics, Digital Arts & Sciences, or a related field.
Location & details#
- Location: Rochester, New York.
- Schedule: 9/80 schedule, which includes every other Friday off.
- Compensation: Pay range is $26.50 to $31.00 per hour.
