About the role#
As a Software Engineering Intern, you will work on software development for advanced tactical radio equipment. You will apply computer science and engineering principles to support the full development life cycle, from initial requirements to final testing. This role involves working with cross-functional teams to integrate hardware and software systems.
What you'll do#
- Write and test embedded software for real-time control systems.
- Develop software test procedures, programs, and documentation.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to evaluate system performance and hardware interfaces.
- Use modeling tools to gather operating data and conduct experimental tests.
- Participate in peer reviews to identify and fix software defects.
- Work with various languages including C, C++, C#, Java, Python, and SQL across platforms like Windows, Linux, and real-time operating systems.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor, Master, or PhD program at an accredited university.
- Academic focus in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Wireless Engineering, Information Security, Mathematics, or Digital Arts and Sciences.
Location & details#
- This position is located in San Diego, California.
- The role is on-site.
- This is a full-time, paid internship with a rolling term.
- The schedule follows a 9/80 format, meaning you work 80 hours over nine days with every other Friday off.
