About the role#
Langan is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern or Co-op to join our team in Parsippany, New Jersey. This is a full-time position for the Fall 2027 term. You will work on land development and infrastructure projects while partnering with industry leadership to gain technical and professional experience. Please note that we do not provide housing or relocation assistance for this role.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the planning, design, and permitting of civil engineering and land development projects.
- Use reports, maps, drawings, engineering plans, and aerial photographs to assess soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and geologic data.
- Support zoning, ordinance, and permit assessments.
- Help with sidewalk cost estimations and determine project feasibility based on data analysis.
- Provide field inspection services when needed.
- Collaborate with team members on project assignments.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a four-year or advanced degree in Civil Engineering.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater is preferred.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD or Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Availability to work at least 30 hours per week.
- Reliable transportation for client meetings and job site visits, plus a valid driver license.
